Volunteering at Nkhotakota:
It is an opportunity for medical professionals and students to see for themselves the vast differences between the delivery of health care in the developed world and in one of the world's poorest nations and gain experience in tropical medicine.
The Malawians are a welcoming, friendly people and you will soon see why this nation is called "The warm heart of Africa"
Medical professionals, medical and nursing students are very welcome whether visiting for the experience or doing their medical ellectives. The minimum practical stay we would recommend is two weeks - or it can be as long as you wish.
If you are not from the medical profession but still feel you could "bring something to the party" do send us your c.v.
We will meet you, and take you back to Lilongwe International airport; provide accommodation in our guest house free of charge.
All we ask in return is that you raise a minimum of $1,000 through sponsorship; this can for example be on the "First giving" website at:

Practicalities:
We advise you research flights can be found on the internet to get the best bargain, it is possible to fly direct to Africa with a number of carriers but maybe cheaper via London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Rome. Do let us know if you find really good offers, so we can publish them.
